We chose to use Bluewave.SWIFT because it comprehensively assists us in systemising Performance Management, CPD, the School Development Plan and our SEF under one umbrella. It has the flexibility to cater for our school's individual needs and respond to any further external changes to school self-evaluation. Bluewave enables me to involve all of my team in development planning, self evaluation and perhaps most importantly succession planning. In our school, performance management, in particular self review was viewed as a daunting experience for most of the team. We have changed this view dramatically by investing in the personal edition of SWIFT. This has empowered individuals to control their own career development and celebrate their successes
We have been using Bluewave.SWIFT to help with school management, for several years now, and have always found it to be a useful suite of integrated ‘tools’. The recent update to the functionality of the performance management tool has increased its usefulness. Staff changes and reminders for reviewees and reviewers are easily managed, as is the scheduling of lesson observations. The option to customise the school observation form and link it to Bluewave.SWIFT’s record of lesson observations has also helped us quickly identify strengths and areas for development. These improvements have helped further reduce the amount of time spent on administrating these tasks
From a number of quality systems Hogarth Primary School chose Bluewave.SWIFT as its preferred centralised system for the schools administration. We felt that it offered all of the units we required to bring together many aspects of the schools functions. After setting up the system tailored to Hogarth, the Deputy Head and two Governors were provided with on line training sessions based on data provided by the school. These session were invaluable, the presenter was clear, knowledgeable and understanding of our varied knowledge, nothing was too much trouble. The training gave us confidence to further explore the full system and to be able to share our knowledge with others. Our next challenge is to ensure that full use is made of the system by the Head, the teachers and administrative staff, and sufficient training is provided for all Governors so that they make use of the system to ' scrutinise' the school processes.
Bluewave.SWIFT has become part of our everyday school improvement procedures... We are using this very effective tool to link school self-evaluation, school improvement planning and strategic development. Our staff have enjoyed using the Performance Management Tool which links objectives with professional standards and training needs. We have benefited from being able to access and interact with key data to ensure our school is on track with realising our mission and aims
The reports I have generated in Bluewave.SWIFT have two distinct functions. Firstly I can create open school reports that staff feed into to reflect ongoing activities against the school monitoring programme. Secondly, we are using personal reports for teachers to help them keep track of their progress against appraisal targets. The power of Bluewave.SWIFT is that these can be threaded together along our own School Improvement agenda and helps to show how the performance management of staff, their CPD and the School Development Plan work as a seamless whole and complement each other to improve outcomes for children
